In the last 7 months, I have written a 71,000 word novel, gotten healthier and achieved a level of joy and happiness that I didn’t think was possible.
The best part? I did it myself. I found the motivation and followed through. I brought myself to this point and it is empowering. Of course, there were those along the way that have been supportive and positive about my journey, but ultimately I was the one that had to take those steps, make those changes and become who I believe I was always meant to be. I’m still learning, growing and becoming that person. I’ve reconnected with cherished friends and made some new friends along the way.
A couple of weeks ago after many, many edits, rewrites, read-throughs and advice from beta readers and others, I took the big step of submitting my manuscript to agents and publishers. Since I’ve never published before, this was a big step for me. Yay me for taking it.
I expect rejection. I will learn from it. I won’t give up. I will continue to stay positive and hope for the best. This is my own personal journey. I may be wearing small shoes in this writing world, but I’m taking just as big a step as other writers out there. We all start somewhere right?
