Today, I thought I would give you a small taste of book two, tentatively titled Crimson and Amber, of the Coffee and Emeralds series.
It’s just a little taste 😃. I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think in the comments below…I’m not giving much away in this excerpt…sorry 😁~Rae
Lori and Trevor are arriving tonight, and we are both excited to see them. Trevor says that Lori has a good-sized baby bump going on. He’s more excited about the baby than Lori is, and Lori has always talked about having kids.
The baby is due in mid-December. It’s going to be a very merry Christmas for us all. I’m cleaning up and trying to get the laundry put away when I hear a car pull into the driveway. I leave the underwear and lingerie to hang dry and run upstairs to meet Lori and Trevor. Sarah is already outside, and there are excited hugs and kisses.
Trevor walks up to hug me and picks me up, spinning me around.
“Hey little sis, it’s good to see you,” he says.
“You too, Trev. You look good, both of you. Happy,” I say.
“We are happy. You ladies look beautiful. Come on, Lori will start crying if you don’t hug her soon,” he says. “Hormones, you know.”
I walk over and wrap her in a tight embrace. “I am so happy right now. I will cry with you if you want,” I say.
Lori laughs. “Don’t get me started, Jo. I have no control.”
I take her hand and we walk into the house.
Sarah helps Trevor with the bags and leads him upstairs to the bedroom they will be using while I give Lori a quick tour of the house.
Later, as I’m folding laundry in the basement, Trevor comes downstairs looking for me.
He stops when he sees what I’m folding and gets a shocked and embarrassed look on his face.
I laugh. “Get a grip, Trevor. It’s underwear. It can’t be avoided. On second thought, it can be, and if that’s what’s going on down there Trevor, I don’t want to know,” I say pointing to his crotch.
He lets out a big laugh and says, “No worries, Jo. No worries. No commando for me.”
“What on earth are you two talking about?” Lori says from the doorway upstairs.
“Underwear dear,” he says and walks back up to join her.
