I know that most people do, but Saturday and Sunday used to be just days of the week for me. Days to do chores like shopping and cleaning.
Weekends now are spent with my partner. We live a ways apart from each other, so the chores I used to do are now done during the week, squeezing them in between chores, cooking, working and writing. We don’t get to see each other during the week, so we squeeze in the quality time every weekend.
A hike to a waterfall, a walk in a nearby forest, or just a lazy day at her house watching TV. It really doesn’t matter what we do as long as we spend the time together. I look forward to weekends now like I never have before. It’s something I didn’t think I wouldever have, and I consider myself lucky.
The fall is one our favorite times to go hiking. As long as we don’t encounter snow we relish the fall colors and the clean air outside. Oregon has so many wonders to see and although we will give it our best effort, I know we won’t hit them all.
This coming weekend, we hope to revisit one of our favorite spots. I’ll be sure to post pictures and details next week. If we don’t make it there, I’ll post anyway no matter where we end up.
Do you have a love? Someone that lights up your world, making it a better place? You don’t have to share names or anything, but I would love it if you would tell me about them.
Just remember, this is a no hate zone. All are welcome to post, no discrimination here, but keep it clean and keep it hate free.
