Here in the Northwest, many Oregon counties entered phase two of reopening and with it the opening up of many state parks and hiking trails.
We took advantage of that and visited Sahalie Falls and Koosah Falls on the McKenzie river. There was so much water coming over the two waterfalls! It was impressive. It felt amazing to get outside again. Compared to the previous two hiking seasons, we’ve not done much due to covid-19.

We arrived at the trailhead early, and that allowed us to have it nearly all to ourselves. The sounds of the water, and the birds in the trees gave me a sense of renewal that I haven’t felt in months. The earth is quite a beautiful place, isn’t it?

On our way back to the car, the trail began to get crowded with others seeking recreation. I’m disappointed to report that not a single person besides us were wearing masks.
Believe me, I know how couped up every one feels. This is no reason to take a chance with your health or the health of others. Be responsible and wear a mask. This is not a joke or hoax. COVID cases will go up if we let our guard down.
Okay, enough preaching. Enjoy the pictures and video of the area and let me know what you think!
